You will need:
- Brown paper (or 24 small envelopes)
- Felt numbers (or you could use coloured paper)
- Chocolate coins
- Large embroidery hoop (if you don’t have one, you could use a photo frame, mirror or corkboard)
- Coloured string
- Small baubles, bells or other assorted decorations
- 24 mini wooden pegs
Make 24 little envelopes out of the brown paper (or use any small envelopes you have) and number them from 1 to 24 sticking on your felt numbers. Pop a chocolate coin or other small gift into each envelope. Leave to one side.
Open up the embroidery frame and lay five lengths of coloured string across, threading on a few small baubles, bells and decorations.
Close up the frame and tighten to secure the thread tightly. Trim any excess from the back. If you’re using a frame or mirror, use washi tape to secure the string in place.
Peg the numbered envelopes randomly on to the lengths of thread, adding extra decorations and tucking paper snowflakes and stars under the pegs too.
