Use leftover Christmas wrapping paper to create hanging star decorations.

You will need

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Pentagon template – download here
  • Thread (or ribbon)
  • Tape (or glue)

Step 1

Trace around our handy pentagon template and cut the shape from the paper.

Step 2

Fold the shape in half five times twisting in between each fold. You’ll end up with an evenly-folded star shape.

Step 3

Keeping a flat edge at the bottom fold up so the outer points meet the top centre folds, crease just the inner section and twist and repeat five times to create a mini pentagon.

Step 4

Refold each of the outer points.

Step 5

Fold each of the outer points to the left and push down creating a star shape.

Step 6

Turn the whole thing over and carefully fold each point in half, tucking the inner edges within each other.

Step 7

Cut a length of ribbon, loop and secure it to one point on the star with glue or tape.
