You will need:
- White card
- Sparkly green thread
- Assorted beads and sequins
- Gold card
Fold the card in half neatly, making a strong fold, and lightly draw a triangle on the front using a pencil and ruler.
Make light marks along both sides of the triangle, spacing them evenly.
Using the needle, poke a hole through each mark from the front. Then use the point of the pencil to make each hole a little bigger.
Thread your yarn on to the needle, tie a knot in one end then, starting at the top of one of the sides (not the tip – you’ll need that later for the star), sew across. Thread on beads and sequins as you go to decorate your tree.
When you get to the bottom, finish by sewing long lines round the edge of your tree, secure the thread and trim the end.
Cut out a star from the gold card and stick it to the top. Your card is now ready for you to write and send.
If sewing isn’t your thing, try using Washi tape to create a Christmas tree shape. Alternatively, green colour swatches from DIY stores can be cut into a tree shape and glued to the card.
