You will need
- Ribbon of choice
- Beads, similar width to the ribbon works best
Start by feeding the needle through some thread and knot the first bead at the end of the thread.
Leaving a couple of centimeters at the end of the ribbon, bend it and thread the needle through, adding another bead.
Bend the ribbon back on itself, threading the needle through again and adding another bead.
Repeat this process until near the end of the thread. Be sure to decrease the amount of ribbon each time to get the desired tree shape.
Add one last bead to finish the decoration – we topped our ribbon trees with a star, but if you wish you can use the same beads throughout.
Using the thread that’s leftover, create a loop and tie securely so it’s ready to hang.
Tip: Try swapping ribbon for thin strips of fabric with different prints or even use old buttons in between instead of beads.
