Emma Willis will host the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards, which will be shown on Channel 5 on Mother’s Day. The TV presenter – who is married to McBusted star Matt Willis and has two children, Isabelle, four, and Ace, two – is looking forward to chatting to the winners.
Emma, 37, says: “It’ll be great to meet the mums and hear what they have been up to.”
It’s been a busy year for Emma. Last year she became the main host of Big Brother on Channel 5, following her long-standing role presenting Big Brother’s Bit On The Side. She is now also co-host of The Voice UK. The former model happily combines her on-screen career with motherhood. She says the best bit of being a mum is the look on her children’s faces when she comes home.
Emma reveals: “I know that in a few years when I walk through the door they’re going to run the other way, so I’m making the most of it! They give such good cuddles.”
Emma insists giving mums the recognition they deserve is vital. She says: “My mum is my hero and I hope that I will be for my kids as well. Mums are such a huge part of our lives and they do so much, even if it’s day-to-day caring. They invest everything they have in the little people they bring into the world."
“I think we should celebrate mums as much as possible. They’re not around forever so let’s make the most of them while they are.”
Watch Emma on the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards at 6.10pm on Mother’s Day, 30 March on Channel 5.
